A hotel nearly collapsed Thursday morning in Kidapawan City after a 6.5-magnitude quake jolted Cotabato less than a week after Mindanao’s strong tremor shook. The hotel may have been occupied following the magnitude 6.3 quake last Oct. 16, Bernalte said, after a structural engineer certified the building as “structurally safe.” The Thursday quake was this month’s third temblor that struck the southern Philippines.
