The UP Men’s Basketball Group’s head coach was suspended on Sunday during the Maroons Game against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in three UAAP sets for “unsportsmanlike behavior” and “flagrant acts of violence.”
The referee called Bright Akhuetie, who had storms on the courts to confront official Jaime Rivano, the technical folly in the third quarter of the match.
On the head coach for his outburst, two technically unsuccessful fouls were introduced.
The UAAP said its decision was based on Article 9 2.1 of the 2019 UAAP Guidelines, stating that “the disqualified, cast off or expelled from unsporting conduct on behalf of a student-athlete, coach, trainer, or team manager, team official, or any associated delegation member by the official in question may not play.
Perasol was also granted an additional two-game suspension for his “flagrant acts of aggression” against Rivano even after the Fighting Maroons restricted him.
The suspension of Parasol will be covered by UP’s matches against Far Eastern University on 6 October, 12 October, 12 Eastern University and 16 October at Santo Tomas University.
