Heavy rains to persist in Luzon owing to the moonsoon reinforced by Falcon, LPA

Due to the monsoon being enhanced by tropical storm and low pressure area, rains will remain in most areas of Luzon. Tropical Storm “Falcon” retained its power as it moved northward, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

In Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and southern Palawan, including the Calamian and Cuyo Islands, moderate to sometimes heavy rains will be encountered. Manila and the remainder of Luzon will have light to moderate to sometimes heavy rains.

The low pressure area found 265 kilometers south of Sinait, Ilocos Sur could intensify into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours. Signal No. 2 stayed above Batanes while Babuyan Group of Islands stayed below Signal No. 1.

Falcon was last found 230 kilometers southeast of Basco, Batanes, moving north at 20 kilometers per hour.
