The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday that dengue death toll in some areas has continued to increase as it now hits 202.
The NDRRMC indicated in its recent situation report that a total of 38,804 dengue instances were recorded from January 1 to July 13 in CALABARZON and in Regions VI, VII, VIII and XII.
According to NDRRMC, CALABARZON has 13,032 dengue cases and 50 deaths, Region VI has 15,813 dengue cases and 90 deaths and Region VII has 9,594 dengue cases and 62 deaths.
In the meantime, it added that Region VIII has 57 dengue instances, while Region XII has 308 dengue cases. Due to the spread of dengue, the municipalities of Pontevedra and President Roxas in the province of Capiz as well as Maasin town in Iloilo already proclaimed a state of calamity earlier this month.
